VOZ Virtual Adds E-Jet To Fleet

Monday 29 October 2007: VOZ Virtual has commenced flights with its new executive style Embraer "E-Jet" aircraft, launching the jet in to passenger services for the first time.

The inaugural E-Jet flight departed Brisbane last week bound for Cairns. The flight featured typical VOZ Virtual launch flight activities including a limited edition t-shirt give-away, complimentary champagne, samba competition and associated festivities, led by VOZ Virtual Chief Operations Officer, Skip Fulton.

VOZ Virtual Airlines has 20 of the Brazilian manufactured aircraft on order, which will arrive in Australia over the next 18 months.

Skip Fulton, said, "This is a significant step for VOZ Virtual being the first day in our seven year history we have operated a second aircraft type. We conducted extensive research into this aircraft and are confident it is the ideal jet to suit Australia, particularly on regional air routes."

The E-Jets will have a dual role in the airline's fleet and will be put into operation to boost frequency on existing VOZ Virtual services as well as open up new regional markets. VOZ Virtual's Embraer 170 has 78 seat capacity, while the Embraer 190 has 104 seats compared to the Boeing 737-700's 144 seats and the 737-800's 180 seats.

VOZ Virtual has spent the past 12 months reviewing up to 21 potential new destinations across Australia. The airline recently announced it would re-enter the Canberra-Sydney route with eight direct daily flights using the new E-Jets. VOZ Virtual will announce its first new regional ports before the end of the year.

The Brisbane-Cairns flight was the first time Guests will have the opportunity to experience the E-Jet, which includes an executive interior fit-out, two-by two seating (no middle seats!) and a quiet, smooth and fast ride.

Skip Fulton added, "We are very pleased to introduce this aircraft in to our fleet and to Australia, the E-Jet will help cement VOZ Virtual's position as an innovator and a market leader and will allow us to bring competition, affordable fares and a new level of comfort to hundreds of thousands more travellers."

AOPA - Not Just For Real Pilots

Only one lucky pilot will win the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association's (AOPA's) 2007 Catch-A-Cardinal Sweepstakes grand prize early next year. But any AOPA member can now fly the one-of-a-kind refurbished 1977 Cessna 177B Cardinal from the comfort of their home on a personal computer _ with a new add-on to Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

"Every AOPA member dreams of winning the sweepstakes airplane," said AOPA President Phil Boyer. "The next best thing to owning it is flying it _ and now, thanks to our partnering with Flight1 Software, all of our members will have that opportunity."

Free to AOPA members, the virtual Cardinal includes nearly every detail of the sweepstakes airplane, including two Garmin GNS 430 navigators, a Honeywell Bendix/King 525 HSI, and the two-axis S-Tec System Fifty Five X autopilot. In addition, once AOPA's real sweepstakes Cardinal interior is complete, Flight1 will use photos of it to create the virtual cockpit, and it will be released in a subsequent version of the software. To get the free download, visit www.aopa.org/sweeps/fly/.

The program, developed by Flight1 Software in conjunction with AOPA, requires a personal computer running Windows XP or Windows Vista and Microsoft Flight Simulator X. A control yoke or joystick also is needed, and a high-speed Internet connection is strongly recommended to download the program because of its size (approximately 46 MB). The Catch-A-Cardinal Sweepstakes software is not compatible with earlier versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The 412,000-member Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has represented the interests of general aviation pilots since 1939. General aviation includes all flying except the scheduled airlines and the military. Nearly two-thirds of all U.S. pilots, and three-quarters of the GA pilots, are AOPA members.

Loaded with features and tools… Assign aircraft, airlines, parking, tail numbering rules, print timetables and check departure boards, or simply load and fly with more traffic than you can imagine!

400,000+ Real-Time Scheduled Flights - Ultimate Traffic will provide users over 400,000+ scheduled flights based on real airline timetables. These schedules include International, National, Regional, Commuter and even Air Cargo operators. The flight schedules touch every corner of Flight Simulator X world.

100's of Airlines Worldwide - All that traffic buzzing around the sky wouldn't be right if you did not support the airlines that fly these scheduled routes. Ultimate Traffic contains over 700 aircraft repaints of various worldwide air carriers, both big and small. The package contains over 40 aircraft model types to provide you with a wide variety of aircraft scenery that adds a unique feel that is only second to you being outside a real airport fence.

3000+ Airports with Traffic - Ultimate Traffic provides users with AI traffic for over 3,000 airports. The end result is an active airport environment, whether you are shooting approaches on 28L at San Francisco International, or flying a virtual load of food supplies to the upper reaches of Alaska.

Aircraft Assignment Tool - This tool gives you a simple point-and-click interface to allow you to manage your AI Traffic library. You can add, delete, and assign aircraft types, with full airline and call sign assignment support for all the scheduled flights. This means that you can add and assign your own library of aircraft that you have collected from the many sources of aircraft on the internet.

Status Board
- This additional tool allows you to see what aircraft are currently at an airport, and it looks and functions similarly to the real arrival and departure boards you see at the airports. The board can also be used as a reference tool to create your favorite scheduled flight using the Flight Simulator X flight planner.

Online Updater/Enhancement Tool - Ultimate Traffic is the first flight simulation add-on to provide a 'one-click' updater to provide users easy access to download new aircraft, program updates, updated airline schedules, new airport files, and additional aircraft repaints.

Fully Featured Interface - Ultimate Traffic's interface contains a rivet busting, cornucopia of options that cannot be found anywhere else. The interface was made to handle the needs of both novice users and power users by providing a whole host of options and features.

Text-O-Matic (TOM) - The now "famous" utility allows users to add additional airline liveries of their own creation or those that are shared across the Internet to provide even more airlines and variety in the Ultimate Traffic environment.

Printable Timetables - Ultimate Traffic also provides users with printable airline timetables and the ability to print airport-specific timetables of the AI traffic that are included in the package. These printouts are designed to resemble the timetables that you can find at your local airport, for your favorite airline.

Community Packager - Another utility that is included is a new tool that will allow members of the flight simulator community to share their repaints and additional AFCADs directly with other Ultimate Traffic users. Flight One thanks those who support our products by providing additional repaints for other flight sim users and has included an easy tool for those who wish to share their work with others. The created packages are available for download to fellow users using the Online Updater tool.

Updated Schedule Plus New Liveries We have included included a brand new current traffic schedule that will be valid for Spring/Summer 2007. With this new schedule, we have adjusted our livery list with new repaints. With this, the total painted traffic count is higher in the FSX version compared to the FS2004 version.

Navigraph News

Navigraph is pleased to announce the introduction of an annual subscription for the FMS Data service. The subscription is valid for 13 AIRAC cycles, leaves no expiring credits, and is offered at a discount.

Today Navigraph also presents new possibilities for add-on developers to incorporate updated FMS Data into their web-based applications. Through the use of Access Codes, a Navigraph user can identify themselves at web sites other than www.navigraph.com to gain access to services supported by freshly updated FMS Data. First out is vroute.info who uses FMS Data for route planning. Access Codes are expected to be useful for route planning services and scheduling applications hosted by virtual airlines.

Annual (13-cycle) FMS Data Package

Following requests from numerous users for an annual subscription to FMS Data, we have introduced an option to get access to a full year of FMS Data (13 cycles) for 200 Navigraph credits. This is more beneficial for users who updates navigation data on a regular basis, as the 13 cycle package carries a 60 credit (23%) discount compared to when purchasing cycles individually.

The subscription can be used until the 13th cycle (counted from the current cycle at the time of purchase), as long as the account remains - even if, at a later stage, the account balance is zero or in the event the credits expire.

To prevent the case of expiring credits a 200 credit charge option (20 EUR) the exact amount needed for the subscription, has been introduced and is intended for users only interested in the annual subscription. Visit www.navigraph.com for more information.

vroute.info supports the latest AIRAC cycle using FMS Data Access Codes

Previously, updated FMS Data was only available for add-on software which was installed on the user's computer. vroute.info (www.vroute.info) pioneers Navigraph's new way of making the latest FMS Data available to users of a web-based service - through Access Codes.

By entering an Access Code into the vroute software, the user can select to construct routes using the lastest AIRAC cycle. The procedure is simple: The Access Code is downloaded as a file from the FMS Data section of the Navigraph web site (www.navigraph.com/www/fmsdata.asp), just like any other FMS Data file, and the Access Code is then copied and pasted into a text field in the vroute software (see screen shot at http://www.navigraph.com/www/images/vroute_access_code.png). A successfully entered Access Code unlocks the FMS Data in vroute and enables routes to be constructed from the lastest AIRAC cycle.

The idea behind the Access Code is that users should be able to use new FMS Data - be it a locally installed add-on software or one managed from a web server. This opens up new doors for other add-on developers and virtual airlines, who also would like to use new FMS Data in their applications, but manage their application centrally from a server. Are you one of them? Contact us at support@navigraph.com and we will look into your case right away.

AIRAC 0711 cycle available

Lastly, a reminder: Cycle 0711 is now available in the FMS Data section of the Navigraph web site (www.navigraph.com/www/fmsdata.asp). Apart from the support of vroute.info for FMS Data updates mentioned above, in this cycle we again support the Wilco/Feelthere Airbus Series products.

Visual Approach Releases New Video

The important news is that we have just finished a new aviation documentary! We were very busy shooting last summer to launch a new series entitled "Flavours of Flight".

The new series focuses on the different and amazing aspects and experiences of various forms of general aviation. The first three parts will feature flying a single-engine Cessna 172, and various gliders performing some unbelievable aerobatics! As well as hang-gliding. These titles also feature simulated flight using various simulators such as FS2004, FSX, and Condor.

This unique educational documentary by Visual Approach (Formally Flight Level the makers of Cockpit Secrets, Secrets of Ferihegy Airport) reveals the wonderful and relaxing experience of flying a small aircraft.

Take a Cessna 172 single-engine aircraft (callsign Sierra Kilo Delta) on a nice cross-country flight around Budapest, Hungary, and fly to the famous and picturesque Danube Bend in Hungary, enjoying the view recorded with multiple cameras and some great music.

Luckily, besides being a pilot, a musician, a scenery designer, and a philosopher, our host, Andras Kozma happens to be a well-known flight simulator expert and builder as well, so viewers also get to see his unique, full-size Cessna 172 flight simulator in action. Instead of technical details, vertigo, and breathtaking stunts, this documentary shows what it really feels like flying a small aircraft for fun in real life, and how some procedures can be practiced at home using Microsoft Flight Simulator combined with a video projector and a full-size instrument panel.

Technical Note: You should be able to play/view the main movie (avi) file with any player/device (such as Windows Media Player). If you are having problems, please install the free Divx codec available at www.divx.com.

In my case, it all started with flight simulators. Through flight simulation I wanted to understand why planes can or cannot fly. Then I got to a point that I think inevitably happens - you want to try the real thing. And this is what happened to me.

Reports On First A380 Flight

Hundreds of spectators were present at Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport to watch the first commercial flight of the humongous Airbus A380 super jumbo land. There was plenty of exitement at the airport's observation deck and inside the terminal too. Coincidentally, Abacus staff member Arnie Lee was in Sydney too and was able to record the event:

Last week, Airbus Industries delivered the first A380 to launch customer Singapore Airlines.

Today, Singapore Airlines flew the A380 on a special flight. Designated as SQ380, the aircraft left Singapore at about 8AM with 455 passengers. All tickets were sold via auction on eBay to raise money for charity. In all, more than $1.5 Million was raised and will be shared by two Sydney-based hospital.

Seven and one-half hours later, the huge double-deck aircraft touched down in Sydney, only one of a handful of airports around the world able to handle this oversized monster.

For more information and to see additional photos of the first commercial flight, please visit http://www.abacuspub.com/a380arrival.html

Announcing Vox ATC X

We are pleased to announce that flying with FSX is about to get a lot more realistic... and become a lot more challenging at the same time

In the past the single most unrealistic aspect of using the air traffic control feature of FSX, and of third-party ATC products, is pilot ATC requests and reading of ATC clearances. Until now you have simulated requests and responses with just a keyboard numbered choice. The new FSX version of VoxATC is about to change the way you interface with air traffic control facilities forever! Now you will use a real headset and a push-to-talk button on your yoke or keyboard to communicate with ATC in your own voice. Now you will listen to the controller, understand the clearance and read it back correctly. And now you not only decide what you want from ATC... you will ask for it.

Your cockpit workload has just moved from the simulated world to the real one! Are you up to the challenge?

A New Era In Virtual Aviation Begins

When I first saw a picture of the Airbus A380 I thought it was a rather unattractive looking airplane. Very different from anything I had seen before in the high-capacity, long range passenger aircraft genre, it just did not catch my interest. Well, a long time has passed since then and as I write, the first commercial flight of this amazing giant of an aircraft is less than two days away.

Singapore Airlines A380 9V-SKA will operate SQ380 from Singapore Changi International to Sydney Kingsford-Smith Airport on Thursday, October 25th, 2007. Make no mistake, this is aviation history in the making and well worth celebrating.

At EastWest Airlines (VA) Australia (EWA), the significance of this historic event has not been lost on us. Our first A380, VH-EBA "Capt J. S. Neuss" was flown nonstop from Toulouse to our home base at Emerald Lake, Queensland, on October 1920 - 19:29 in real time - and may well be a distance record for a commercial passenger jet in the Microsoft Flight Simulator environment. It was just an awesome flight in an aircraft modeled exceptionally well by Robert Versluys. Freeware, by the way; thanks for your valuable contribution to the world of flight simming, Robert.

An advantage of being a virtual airline with no real world equivalent to model an aircraft fleet on is that we can take full advantage of such a milestone aviation event by adding the A380 to our fleet, paralleling an airline like Singapore Airlines which, thankfully, showed great faith in Airbus and the A380. We already have our A380 schedules posted on our Operations Forum. Those schedules will expand in line with SIA's A380 fleet expansion which will soon see the A380 on the Singapore-London route.

EWA is A380-ready and so once again we claim to be the pacesetter in the Oceania area of virtual airline operations. Our scheduled A380 services commence on October 28th, the same day SIA puts 9V-SKA into regular service. That is an outstanding first for this "quiet achiever" of Australian-based Virtual Airlines and we are justly proud of it.

A quick look around various online flying web sites shows no mention of Thursday's A380 charity flight but yes, you guessed it, EWA will be there, operating VH-EBA from WSSS to YSSY, ETD Changi 250000Z; ETA YSSY 250725Z. The flight will be conducted on the FSFDT network, should anyone be interested in participating.

EWA can be found on the Web at http://eastwestva.org and A380 flight details on our Operations and General Forums. Ten years on, we still "make the good times possible." Come on, grab the Australian Spirit and fly the A380 with us!

Flight Simulator X: Acceleration Now Available

The Flight Simulator X Acceleration Expansion Pack delivers an all new thrilling multiplayer race mode, new action-packed missions, more new content, and newly enhanced DX10 graphics!

Challenge friends in the new racing mode, or test your flight skills in the 20 new missions like being a NASA test pilot, performing search and rescue on an ocean liner, or navigating a whiteout blizzard in the backcountry. Also included are six new scenery maps including the famed Red Bull Air Race courses, and three new planes such as the F/A-18A Hornet.

Those who prefer more vintage aircraft will like the P-51D Mustang, the acclaimed long-range fighter from World War II. The Mustang is very useful in the famous Reno Air Racing circuit, as well as cross-country racing.

Acceleration includes multiplayer races so you can test your skill against others online. The third new aircraft is the AgustaWestland EH101, the first dual-turbine helicopter in Flight Simulator. This is a medium-lift helicopter, (Don't forget that fact as you fly some of the missions). You will learn how to use the hoist to pick up and deliver pallets and other cargo. Other missions have you trying to interdict drug-running aircraft in South Florida. The EH101 is a nice addition, and given that it's the basis for the upcoming presidential helicopter (Marine One), we hope that fans of FSX will be able to tweak the chopper for some VIP flying.

Developed by ACES Studio, "Flight Simulator X: Acceleration" adds a wealth of new content and features, allowing gamers to race against each other in amazing, highly-detailed locations around the world. Aviators are able to test their skills and heroism in many new missions while enjoying three exciting new aircrafts and the ability to share rewards, photos and videos with friends and the broader flight simulator community.

"Flight Simulator X," which launched in October 2006, introduced gamers to a beautifully rich and realistic world offering a completely new and innovative gaming experience. Available in both standard and deluxe versions, "Flight Simulator X" allows gamers of all ages, types and skill levels opportunities to cruise more than 24,000 airports and experience first-hand what it's like to be an aviator traveling the globe. With the addition of more than 50 missions and increased online game capabilities, "Flight Simulator X" is more than just a simulator and has proved to be the fastest selling addition to the 25-year "Flight Simulator" franchise.

HiFi Simulation Software Announces New Products

HiFi Simulation Software is announcing new stable mates for ASX, AS6.5 and X Graphics. With the launch of their new web site comes the announcement that 3 new products are in the pipeline for release over the next 12 months.

First out of the door will be X Elemental, a graphics management utility, and this should hit the stands before Christmas 2007. This add-on approach is unique in that it allows users to import graphics from their favorite developer's add-ons to create highly customized themes for installation into FSX. Once imported, the graphics can also be further customized by tweaking color levels, brightness, contrast, opacity and more. Users can also create or edit weather influenced settings for each texture variation, allowing simple manual, random and/or weather-influenced combinations from any and all graphics add-ons installed!

This will finally give users a central location to gather all the best textures from their current graphics applications and integrate them fully with their weather conditions.

X Elemental can even generate basic weather scenarios to allow users to test their themes, fly circuits, practice approaches without having to fire up a fully featured weather engine.

X Elemental will be offered at a significant discount for ASG customers.

Next in the release schedule is X Planner, targeted for release in summer/fall 2008. A full featured Flight Planning System, X Planner is graphically based and totally integrated for simultaneous depiction and reporting of route and weather conditions.

There is also a comprehensive aircraft details screen importing your full FS hangar and each time X Planner is started it will check for new aircraft. These details will help provide more accurate planning for your flight.

It goes without saying that X Planner will be tightly integrated with ASX to provide accurate and detailed weather for your route in all phases of planning and flight following.

Finally in this trio of new products, Active Sky Advanced is announced, targeted for release in fall/winter 2008. This will be a new-generation weather simulation system giving all the graphical features and detailed weather features you have come to expect from HiFi, but super-charged with dozens of new unique features.

Enhanced mapping, voice briefings, online pilot reports, transitional weather and wind smoothing and much more will all be included.

ASA will also have new non-tropical storm pressure simulation and enhanced tropical storm simulation with improved coverage of South Pacific and extreme western pacific regions.

However, that is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Active Sky Advanced, as with our new concept, all applications will be tightly integrated giving a central location for all data and functionality.

A critical feature of our new product development concept is sharing of data. We are making it very simple for any developer to tap into our data including reading and controlling weather, reading imagery and more. We want to open our doors to other developers, commercial and freeware, to give the Flight Sim community the greatest choice of products and integration possibilities for their enjoyment.

The list of features in these 3 packages is too large to mention here so take a look at the new web site (http://www.hifisim.com) and see what is coming to you over the next 12 months from HiFi!

Announcing FSFlyingSchool 1.7

FSInventions announces a new version of its FSFlyingSchool add-on for FSX and FS2004. Version 1.7 introduces several new features which are free to existing customers and new users alike.

FSFlyingSchool's random failures simulation has been extended to include the autopilot whereby six more switches, including airspeed and heading hold, may of may not function normally during the flight. In addition, failures which occur during the flight are recorded in detail in the pilot log book, along with the total duration of failure and indicating whether the system was still inoperative at landing.

More new features increase the add-on's flexibility by permitting the pilot to specify if transition from takeoff to cruise mode or from cruise to landing mode are to be detected automatically or indicated by the pilot.

FS Dreamscapes Releases California 10m Mesh+

FS Dreamscapes has been hard at work completing a year long project to bring enhanced, high quality mesh to "Microsoft Flight Simulator X" for the state of California.

Developed by Dean Mountford, the "FS Dreamscapes: California 10m Mesh+ Terrain" adds three times the resolution of the default mesh terrain, allowing simmers to fly through narrow canyons and valleys, exploring places never before seen in lower resolution mesh. Pilots are able to test their skills and aerobatic prowess zooming through tight twisting terrain while experiencing smooth ground runs during bush flying due to 10cm vertical resolution on the terrain compared to the usual 1m in other terrain products.

"FS Dreamscapes," which officially launched their first product for Utah in September 2007, had started research and development into the new FSX terrain mesh format in the 3rd quarter of 2006. The aim was to create the highest quality mesh terrain available and build towards even higher resolution terrain in coming years.

"FS Dreamscapes: California 10m Mesh+ Terrain" is available for the estimated retail price of $10.95 U.S. for "Microsoft Flight Simulator X".

For more information about "Flight Simulator X" please visit: http://fsdreamscapes.blogspot.com.

About FS Dreamscapes

FS Dreamscapes has long been a visionary dream of Dean to push the envelope in Flight Simulator design and innovation. The vision is not just to make scenery for Flight Simulator, but to make the best quality scenery and products possible and to build for the future of Flight Simulation. RealAir And Flight1 In New Partnership

Two of the best-loved names in flight simulation, Flight1 Software and RealAir Simulations, have today announced a partnership that will see RealAir products published in boxed editions and available for electronic sale via Flight1.

RealAir Simulations has been creating quality flight simulation software since 2001. In that time it has developed a reputation for creating the finest quality and most innovative aircraft expansions for Microsoft's Flight Simulator series and picked up many awards along the way.

The innovations RealAir has introduced to the Microsoft Flight Simulator world are many, such as: the first aircraft with accurate stall and spin behaviour; the first aircraft with realistic side-slip behaviour; exclusive 'Smooth Gauge Technology' which brings incredible smoothness and clarity to virtual cockpit gauges; their exclusive 'RealView', a system that simulates the forces experienced by a pilot in flight as well as simulating the buffet felt during a stall; realistically simulated engine failures; user-configurable VC panel layouts, and much more.

Flight1 has for ten years been both developer and publisher with a strong affinity with real aviation, be its official development work with aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus Military, ATR or Pilatus or its award-winning GA aircraft expansions.

Flight1 Europe's Managing Director, Mungo Amyatt-Leir commented on the partnership:

"We're naturally delighted to be working with RealAir, not just because of the superb quality of their products, but our two companies share the same goals when it comes to flight simulation - they have developed some of the few real 'pilots aircraft' that don't just hit the right numbers, but also feel right when flown in Flight Simulator. With real pilots on staff, that's something we really appreciate. Flight1 is really looking forward to taking their titles to a wider audience both in the simulation and real aviation communities."

Rob Young at RealAir Simulations added: "Up to now our affiliate associations have been limited because we are concerned that our customers get first class support and quality after-sales care commensurate with RealAir's hard won reputation. Our new partnership with Flight1 is an indication of our recognition of, and trust in, Flight1's staff and organisation. We are very excited about this partnership and we know that our new association will not only enhance RealAir's standing in the flight simulator community but also make our products truly global. Flight1 is the premiere distributor of flight sim products and its attention to detail and quality of customer care over many years has persuaded us that our association will benefit not only RealAir, but our customers too."

The first release, the RealAir SF260 is out now in a combined Flight Simulator 2004/X boxed edition and the Flight Simulator X version for direct download direct from www.flight1.com.

This will be followed by the all-new FSX edition of the American Champion Series, with the Scout, Citabria and Decathlon aircraft combined in one package in box or download editions.

Please visit www.flight1.com to find out more.

Flight Replicas Release Avia S-199

The Avia S-199 was initially built purely from existing parts stocks, the aircraft gradually evolved into something unique!

In 1945, following World War II, Czechoslovakia, which had been the location of several Messerschmitt Bf-109 manufacturing plants, found itself with a substantial stock of unused Bf-109 components. In need of an air force, Czechoslovakia decided to use this stockpile to build it's own fighter aircraft, which is christened the Avia S-199. For example, when engine DB605 engine stocks ran out, the Jumo 211F was used, changing the aircraft's appearance substantially.

Features four models:

1. S-99: Assembled directly from Bf-109G-14 parts, with DB605AS engine, but with some cockpit modifications

2. S-199: Early version with Jumo 211F engine, Erla canopy and under-engine oil cooler radiator

3. S-199: Standard production, Jumo 211F engine, bubble canopy on rails, new engine oil heat exchanger (no visible radiator), and modified wheel axles (wheels now fully vertical)

4. S-199: Final version (as above, with small differences, such as engine hand crank on rear cockpit bulkhead)

France VFR Release Flight Mediterranee AutoGen

Flight Mediterranean AutoGen covers the Southern part of France from Marseille to Perpignan (about 20 000 km sq.) with photorealistic textures.

Each of the default airport platforms on the scenery have been reworked in order to closely fit the photo texture with precisely aligned taxiways, buildings, and objects, greatly enhancing these from the standard Flight Simulator 2004 fare.

Experience both VFR and IFR flights within a very large zone with a degree of realism never attained before in this region.

France VFRs main goal in developing this new concept of scenery add-ons was to recreate a realistic flying experience from a pilota€™s point of view. The Flight series has a modular approach perfectly fitting together the photorealistic coverage and the optimization of the elements of decor such as detailed airports. The AutoGen is an optimized photo scenery package where all the default scenery elements have been retreated.

Flight1 release Ultimate Terrain X: Canada

Flight One Software, in partnership with Scenery Solutions, has officially released Ultimate Terrain X - Canada for FSX.

Canada is truly covered with this release, and Canadians can now fly over an all new terrain, covering millions of miles of roads, highways, interchanges, lakes, coastlines, rivers, glaciers, islands, and again, more lakes. This is because Canada by far has more lakes than any other country in the world. All this water helps boost Canada to a size that is even larger than the current USA version of Ultimate Terrain X.

You also get landclass and waterclass enhancements, as well as Ultimate Terrain's unique night lighting that brings your night landscapes and cities alive. You also get enhanced street traffic, which makes your scenery even more realistic.

A highly configurable utility for managing the various layers of UT scenery is of course included.

You can get the download version now by visiting http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=utxcan. The product is $34.95 USD, with a limited-time 20% off coupon for FS2004 version customers.

We are also excited to mention that with the completion of Canada, the UTX development team is now moving full speed ahead on the development of Ultimate Terrain X - Europe.

Ariane Announce New Web Site

Ariane announced today that it has launched a completely new experience with the opening of its altogether new web site. The new site is much faster and friendlier; provides more support access and a direct file download capability as well as making the whole operation much more of a 'designer' experience.

It is pleasant on the eye and easy to use and navigate and the new support engine is updated every week with new questions, tips and a lot of other information relevant to the operation of the software.

There is a gimpse of the new FSX product on the site and news will follow shortly with screen shots and more.

MD Neville Rolt said: "We have really improved download speeds radically which was one of the aims (the old multiple file system is now replaced with one file and a quick install feature) and we have been provided with a much more secure ordering system supplied by the Royal Bank of Scotland. Much faster activation processing will mean a better experience for everyone. We wish to support the needs of our current clientele and encourage them to write to us and let us know what they would like to see. If it can be done, we will do our best to make it happen."

With the opening of the site, there will be a one week offer for everyone to download the line of products at 29.99. The offer is limited to one week furing its opening and then prices will go back to normal.

Everyone is invited to share the new experience.

FAQ from Microsoft

Microsoft has provided us with an FAQ about FSX which we have reproduced verbatim below. Following the FAQ, we have added our own analysis and commentary about the official Microsoft report. Some of our analysis and insights may astound you.

Q: When will “Microsoft Flight Simulator X” be available?
A:
We are working hard to deliver “Flight Simulator X” in the holiday 2006 timeframe.

Q: What’s new in “Microsoft Flight Simulator X”?
A: Many of the new features in “Flight Simulator X” are based on requests from our loyal community who have provided creative input into our decision process. Therefore, we are excited to bring our fans the most revolutionary addition to the “Flight Simulator” franchise yet. We take full advantage of Windows Vista and the latest Windows gaming hardware to create a beautifully rich and immersive 3D world for aviation fans, young and old, to explore and experience. The new enhancements extend beyond the look and feel of the planet. The advances in graphics will benefit the aircraft as well, and fans will be amazed at the new level of detail in the models and the realistic effects like sun glint off the glass and chrome, reflective paint, and even shaded rivets on the fuselage. For the more game play minded, we are adding a new mission-based element to give fans a more objective driven experience with a sense of progression and skill development. We are also improving the multiplayer technology to allow the community to connect in new ways. This is just the beginning and, in the coming months, we look forward to sharing more information about “Flight Simulator X” as we lead up to launch at the end of the year. You can download FSX Repaints here.

Q: Will “Flight Simulator X” require Windows Vista?
A: No. While “Flight Simulator X” will not require Windows Vista, it will be optimized for the latest in Windows gaming hardware and fans will get the best experience by running on Windows Vista.

Q: What type of computer hardware will I need to run “Flight Simulator X”?
A: While we are still determining exact hardware requirements, we do know that it will run on a wide range of configurations because we want to make “Flight Simulator X” accessible to a wide range of fans.

Q: Will “Flight Simulator X” ship on DVD only?
A: Yes, for the first time “Flight Simulator” will ship on DVD only in order to provide the highest level of detail and realism for the product and we do not plan to offer a CD-based version.

Q: Will aircraft from FS2004 be compatible with “Flight Simulator X”?
A: Backward compatibly with existing 3rd party content is and has always been a priority for us, and we attempt to test as many add-ons as possible in order to provide the greatest level of compatibility.

Q: What are the types of aircraft featured in “Flight Simulator X”?
A: We will offer a range of aircraft to support a wide variety of flying experiences and many of the aircraft will be tied to specific mission-based experiences. Our basic fleet is merely the starting point because we are going to make it easier to download additional aircraft created by the many accomplished add-on developers in the community. You can download FSX Repaints here.

Q: How many airports are included in “Flight Simulator X?”
A: We have included more than 24,000 airports in “Flight Simulator X” and the coverage extends to every continent. Flight Environment X Released by Flight One

Flight One Software, in partnership with Aerosimulations (Peter Wilding and Chris Norris), would like to announce the official release of Flight Environment X for Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Flight Environment fans can now rejoice as Flight Environment returns with this all new version. Xenvision, the new technology in Flight Environment X, creates beautifully rendered clouds, sky themes, and water themes. The program adds revolutionary control of your environment, all of it in stunning high-definition detail.

This version is also very different compared to the original release for FS9. The range of customization is enormous, allowing an incredible depth of control... from adjusting the transparency of clouds and the color of the bottom of clouds, right through to adjusting how the water color scales in depth. Intuitive tools allow even the novice to be able to achieve stunning results. The included cloud editor will make it nearly impossible to see the same scene twice.

Flight Environment X also provides ease of use features that allow users to use stunning and varied preset themes using the same principles as Flight Environment for FS9. You can select from the many themes, or allow FEX to intelligently select themes for you, varying your experience every time you fly.

MEA Virtual Online Again

After many months of interruption; MEA Virtual team developed a new web site for MEA Virtual fans. The new web site replaced the old MEA Virtual.com and is now with .org extension

After resolving the dispute with real MEA Air-Liban, the team decided to resume its virtual operations using VATSIM platforms , and changing the look of their old web site which was an imitate of the real MEA page. However; some of the information on fleet and routes are still corresponding with those of real MEA to give the users (Pilots) the impression of real life air traffic.

The new webpage designed and featured by Marketing & Sales Consultants® is now in last stages to be uploaded on the net by end of August 2007. Advisor of MEAVirtual.org commented to the return, as the persistence of the team of pilots, who used to fly MEA Virtual through the old web site, and this was the result of their unity and hard work and their strong belief in VATSIM as a major world-wide partner of VAs.

The advisor also said that in December 2007; the new web site will include an On-Line shopping of MEAVirtual souvenirs, and Gift items which profits will be rewarded to pilots who accomplish their monthly flight schedules. This new concept in marketing MEAVirtual.org is expected to boom up the number of subscribed pilots, in addition to the Flight events which are under planning by the web site consultants for the coming year.

In short; MEAVirtual.org seems to be a promising home of Virtual Cedarjet to raise the name of Lebanon again across the world.

Vagar Airport Released For FS2004/FSX

Aero Files is pleased to present to you the new release of Vagar Airport for FSX and FS2004. Vagar Airport is a photoreal scenery of the airport in the Faroe islands.

The history of this small airport is unique and so is the program itself:

Vagar Airport was originally a military installation, built during World War II. In the early 1960's the need and popular demand in the Faroes for civil aviation grew to the point of making a modernization of the runway a necessity to facilitate passenger traffic.

1st July 1963 Vagar Airport became operational for civil aviation and the first carrier landed on the 17th July 1963. During the early years only propeller aircraft were implemented. Since 1977 jet aircraft too have serviced the routes to the airport. Since 1963, when regular civil aviation began, continuous changes and improvements have been undertaken as to keep the airport abreast of aviation developments. Consequently today you may use a modern and advanced airport when traveling to and from the Faroes.

From 1963 Danish Civil Aviation Administration has operated the airport. Vagar Airport is made for short distant airplanes such like the BAe 146-200, B737-400, Socata Trinidad TB20, Socata TMB700, Saab 2000 and now the Airbus A319 which came as a test flight direct from the Airbus factory.

Many pilots use Vagar Airport when they fly from: England, Norway, Denmark to Iceland or Greenland, etc. for private flights. Atlantic Airways and Faeroe Jet are the commercial airlines of Vagar Airport. The destinations for Atlantic Airways and Faeroe Jet from Vagar is: Billund (DK) Copenhagen (DK) Aalborg (DK) Reykjavik (IS) Stavanger (NO) and others.

Mearsk Air is a old friend of Vagar Airport but has now been sold to Iceland. If you like airports with short runways, this airport is the right one for you. The runway is 4089 feet long, and has a elevation of 280.0 feet above sea level. This product will make you long for short runways, complex approaches and moderate weather.
